add resource in Project by other user not PM RRS feed

  • Hi,

    i have project plan which has difference phases and task, phase or task are related to different department. is it possible that each department can assign resource for their particular are/phase.

    for example two phase development and QA. For development activities Development Head assign resource to project, where QA head assign resource for QA/testing related task. 

    pls guide is it possible/supported if so how can i implement it.

    If you are the application administrator for Project Online, there are several actions you would need to take to enable the functionality you seek:

    1. For the users who will need to build the team in any part of a project, add them to the default Project Managers group in PWA.
    2. Change the permissions in the Project Managers group to allow members of the group to open, edit, save, and publish EVERY project in the system.
    3. Provide a copy of Microsoft Project Professional to everyone who will assign resources to tasks in any project.
