After changing user folder name , the old folder left with "counters.dat" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Got my new laptop with Windows 10 Pro.

1st time sign in it uses my email address as user folder name "C:\users\<email>".

I didn't like it, so I managed to change it to my name.

After rebooting, now it left with a file that I couldn't delete: C:\Users\<email>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\counters.dat

I did online search and found some similar issues but didn't find a solution on the forum.

  • Hi Goden,

    Thank you for your question.

By this issue, we suggest you end a process in Task Manager which is IE process, then check if you could delete it.
