Change Size With GPO of Temporary Internet Files IE 11

    Question

  • I'm looking to change the default settings of IE 11 for Temporary Internet Files

I want to modify the default "Disk space to used"

I need to do this with a GPO on a Windows Server 2012 R2

    Do you have any idea?

    Thanks for the help

  • Hi,

I suppose you first need to get the location of these temporary files:

Second: check this policy is not enabled:

    user configuration\administrative templates\windows components\internet explorer\disable changing temporary internet files settings<not enabled>

    Last:try this settings<only applied for roaming>

    Best regards,

    Andy

  • Hi man,

thank you for your help, I really appreciate that!

I don't need to move the Temporary Internet Files but I need to set the size, the disk space to use.

    Do you have any idea?

  • Use GPP registry to set these keys - It might be just one of the values that's required to be changed.. It also seems to be that the client needs a restart to take effect.

    Path - HKCU:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache\Content
    Value Name - CacheLimit
    Value (Decimal) - 1048576

    Path - SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache
    Value Name - ContentLimit
    Value (Decimal) - 1024
