Problem Unable to login to my website locally by using my public IP. RRS feed

  • I have dell server installed win2003 with all patches and IIS.

    I able to browse my Website(IIS) at internet cafe, but unable to browse it locally on neither my LAN network  nor my server itself. unless i am using http://localhost:1234/website, but not http://123.123.123.123:1234/website (assume 123.123.123.123 is my public ip)

    Please guide me what should i do. I done port forwarding, firewall exception.

    Thanks for the post.

    First of all, we don't recommend that machines on the local LAN should be looking for a local website using its public name/IP address.

    In this case, you could modify the DNS settings so the machines on the private network resolve the web site to the server's private IP address.
