same intranet address is using for different project server 2010 setup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Project Server 2010:

    -------------------------

I have two Servers on the network.

One is front end and one is database.

    URL is http://192.168.43.161/pwa

and using Intranet in (Alternate Access Mapping) : http://epm

    This configuration is working fine.

we can access the server with http://epm/pwa

I created two Backup servers again on the same network with different IP's.

one is front end and one is backend database server.

    URL is http://bh-p00-a169-02/pwa

using Intranet in (Alternate Access Mapping) : http://epm

This configuration is not working fine.

we can access the server with http://epm/pwa

But it is going to open previous server PWA.

    Why it is happening

How to I configure two different Project Server 2010 setup in the same network with different IPs but same intranet address.

  • You must edit the binding in IIS with the domain names in addition to the  alternate access mappings

  • Hi John,

If I understand your question correctly, you want to use the same URL for the new server/restored project server instance. After you've done what Michael mentioned, you will need to point "epm" to the new server (this is done in DNS). For testing purposes, the hosts file on the test client machine can be updated and point "epm" to the IP of the new server

    Hope this helps
