Cannot check retention policy for this site

  • Hello,

    I'm trying to follow this article to start a workflow on a calendar item to send out a reminder:

    When I go to Calendar -> Library Settings -> Information management policy settings, I'm getting a yellow bar telling me I "Cannot check retention policy for this site".  I've gone to the site collection and Library and Folder Based Retention feature is activated.  I can't find anything else that would be "deactivating" that functionality on the site.

  • Hi Mike,

    Please do as follows:

    1. Check "Expiration Policy" and "Information Management Policy" timer jobs, make sure they are works.

    2. Check the ULS log to get more detailed information. For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log locates in
    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS".

    3. Check if you can create Content Type Policy Templates(Site Settings->Site Collection Administration).

    Base on the requirement, we can also create a timer job to achieve it.
