/lists/ in path name for some document libraries, unable to recreate

    Question

  • Hi,

I have inherited some O365 webs that have /lists/ in the path name for the document libraries.

These libraries were created by a sandbox solution that has been disabled.

I am trying to understand why the document libraries with the document content type would have lists in the path.

If I create new libraries the path is sitename/library name. This is an issue as the path including /lists/ has been hardcoded into other parts of the overall solution (outside SharePoint) so I need to create new libraries with the /lists path.

Interestingly the app icon for these libraries is not the document library one but the data connection library Icon. I have created a data connection library though and it is also missing /lists/ in the path.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

    Laura

  • Hi Laura,

By default, the list in SharePoint will be created under Lists folder path, but the library will not.

If you want to create a library under Lists folder path, a probably way, using SharePoint Patterns and Practices (PnP).
