Windows not recognizing touch screen on ASUS T91MT RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running windows 7 on Asus T91MT.  This PC should have touch capability (equipped with a resistive touch screen); however, Windows will not recognize it.  Device manager lists monitor as "Digital Flat Panel (1024x768 60Hz).  Updating drivers has not resolved issue.  Any suggestions?

  • Hello!

Have you checked if the "Tablet PC Components" is installed on your system?
Go to Control Panel -> Program and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off, then search for Table PC Components on the list.

    Regards,

    Luciano

  • Ah, one more thing: Also check if the service "Tablet PC Input Service" is running.

  • Hi,

What’s the edition of your system?

Windows Touch is available only in the Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate editions of Windows 7.

Did you turn On Touch Screen?

Open your Start menu and type "Touch" into the search bar. This will show a variety of options, including the "Pen and Touch" options. Double-click it to open the "Pen and Touch" window.

Check the boxes next to the "Use your finger as an input device" and, if preferred, check the "Enable multi-touch gestures and inking" box as well.

Click "Apply" to set the options and click "OK" to exit the window.

  • Thank you for your prompt response.  I am running W7 Home Premium.  I have attempted your suggestions and "Pen and Touch" is not even listed as an option when I search for "Touch".  the troubleshooter tells me that I have an unknown USB device located at Port_#001.Hub_#003 which Windows has stopped because it has reported problems (Code 43).  All other systems seem to be working fine.

  • I have tried both suggestions, without success.  I have also restored the original BIOS but still no go :-(
