Event 22 - Active Directory Certificate Services could not process request on NAP CA RRS feed

  • Hi, 

    we have a following error an a NAP CA Server.

    Active Directory Certificate Services could not process request 286437723 due to an error: Error 0xc8000436 (ESE: -1078).  The request was for NETZ\xxxxxx$.  Additional information: Error Parsing Request.

    Do anyone know what the message says, or how to fix it?

    Thanks for your post.

    A number of problems can prevent a certificate request from being processed. If the event log message does not contain all the information you need to correct the problem, additional errors and warnings preceding or following this event log message can help you identify the cause. 

    To identify and resolve problems that can block certificate request processing, you should:

    • Confirm the certificate chain for the certification authority (CA).
    • Generate and publish new certificate revocation lists (CRLs).
    • Confirm the configured CRL distribution points.
    • If these steps do not resolve the problem, check the failed requests queue on the CA for information about why the request failed.

  • Hi,

    Please ensure that you have not checked the "Publish certificate in Active Directory" checkbox on the health certificate template. If you do this, you can get the error mentioned above. See below.
