    Hello,

    I just noticed on one server the display name for the "Windows Update"

    is called "wuauserv" and not "Windows Update"

    How this could happen? Is it possible to rename the service display name?

    Set-Service -Name "wuauserv" -DisplayName "Windows Update"

    May be some problem with the DisplayName string found here.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv

    Hi,

    You can try to use “Sc config” to rename service’s name back to Windows Update with parameter “displayname”.
