DPM unattended installation password RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys.

I have successfully installed DPM 2010 unattended, using a command similar to this:

    start /wait d:\setup.exe /i /f c:\TMsUnattDPMinst.ini /l c:\TMsDPMinstlog.txt

The answer file used here, the "TMsUnattDPMinst.ini", contains a password for the SQL account, written in clear text. Is there a way to get around having a password in clear text, in a file? Can it be specified in the commandline?

    Best regards,

  • Hi Thomas,

At present giving password as part of commandline is not a supported scenario.
