Internet Explorer 11 Bug RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have used a simple demo: https://jsfiddle.net/BlackLabel/ok7p60s8/

    JSFiddle throws some errors about loaded scripts that are not related to the issue, but this might be related to IE11 Internet options / security.

    Tested on localhost and if the chart is loaded in iframe, then exporting sends request, server sends proper reply (tested on export.highcharts.com and on local node-exporting-server), communication ends with status 200, all is fine, but file save pop up doesn’t show and file is not saved.

    Also recreated on Win 8.1 / IE11 version 11.0.9600.18894 - for the simple HTML site with iframes, but not when using JSFiddle demos.

    I will try to check with MS if there’s any browser / OS option that might cause this problem.
    I have suggestions to change internet security, browser options (full debugging - on all errors, log into developer tools console at all times, etc.), but I see no difference. Problem is there, no error is seen, file is not loaded - no dialog window shows to ask about saving or opening the file.

    To make sure you have the same problem please try exporting from the demo site here: https://www.highcharts.com/demo/line-basic

    The issue is only with iframe, so e.g. the JSFiddle demo when using IE11 (other IE version not tested).

  • Hi,

    first go Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, check "Always record developer console messages".

    When you debug web pages with the f12 dev tools,

    1. Select "Break on all exceptions" from the dropdown list. (looks like a stop sign).

    2. You must keep the dev tool open while you are debugging web pages.. (otherwise "Break on all exceptions" does not fire), so PIN it to your browser tab.

    3. Post web development questions to stackoverflow (Internet Explorer forum)....

    <quote>

    </quote>

    you should have corrected any obvious errors before asking....

    Your dev tool is self-documented... clicking on error or warnings in the Console tab, will take you to the relevant code lines or MSDN documentation.

    If possible include links to your website or a jsfiddle....

    Repost website coding questions to the Internet Explorer forums at stackoverflow.... the MSFT Edge and IE support developers sometimes answer coding questions there.

  • if the chart is loaded in iframe

    Is there a way to edit the iframe--in particular the sandbox list to remove allow-modals--before sending?  I tried to look at this using just the IE DT but did not see a way.  Maybe you could do it with VS?

    C.f. (another sandbox list that seems to require editing)
