Password for hotfix KB888111 expired RRS feed

  • Tried to get hotfix from KB888111 today (5/16/2011)

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111/us-en

    I was able to download the exe file, but both passwords are expired. The first should expire on 5/5/2011. As the next one expires 7 days later it did so on 5/12/2011.

     

    Where can I get a working, unexpired password?

  • I am having the same problem, I could download the file but both passwords, in the e-mail, required to unzip the file are expired.

  • Hi, I guess you are having issues with HD sound drivers in XP SP3 just like I had.

    You have to back to the same place you requested the hotfix originally.  It is usually noted in the email that the passwords have an expiration date and they usually give you the next date and password.

    Those passwords are generated by the Microsoft and are not generated in any forums anywhere.

  • My issue is exactly the same, but for a different Hotfix.  This is the content of the email for the hotfix I have received:

    Password Changes On: 05/07/2011

    Next Password: 9rKhnu7q

     

    Now, if the password expired on 5/07/2011, and the next password starts on 5/08/2011 and lasts for 7 days, the moment I download the hotfix, I can't extract it because the password is immediately broken.

    Everywhere I go to report this issue, requires me to pay for support.

    I hate to post the password for a fix, but it doesnt really matter considering that the password is already expired.


    Did I mention, that I downloaded this patch yesterday (5/18/2011), and re-requested the email again today (5/19/2011), both emails are exactly the same.
