wss 3.0 load-balancing issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello:

I have a very bizzare behavior on a wss 3.0 web/app I am trying to load-balance via Citrix Netscaler.   Here is the scenario:

    WFE1 & WFE2
    WEB/APP: myapp.company.com configured on port 9080
hostheader is set to = myapp.company.com
    Loadbalance URL = http://myapp.company.com
    AAM settings:
Internal URL is set to http://myapp.company.com
    Zone = default
Public URL = http://myapp.company.com for default

    Here is what happens:

I can successfully browse my site using http://WFE1:9080 AND http://WFE2:9080

However, when I browse http://myapp.company.com - I get a "page not found" error.  but as soon as I append "default.aspx" to the end of the url as http://myapp.company.com/default.aspx - then the site will come up.

The NetScaler team is saying the sharepoint server is redirecting to port 9080.  They are seeing the below response header from the SharePoint server.  Can someone help determine what could be the issue here?

    Thank you in advance,

    Walid

  • Hi ,

Where do you set the host header to ‘myapp.company.com’ ? In  the Internet Services Manager ?How do you define the TCP port number of the web application ?Make sure that you have entered all the information correctly.

For more detailed information about set host header ,please refer to this site:
