After inserting registry key DefaultUserName and DefaultPassword, windows 10 cannot auto logon. error "there is no logon server availbal" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have ever tried to use the same registry key for windows 7 and there is no problem. When I try it on windows 10, I received the error "there is no logon server available".

However, if I manually type username and password to logon the computer, then reboot it, the computer would be auto-logoned as default username. it is quite strange. Has anyone met this error?

here is my registry key details:

  • The error message usually points to issues with network connectivity. As a starting point I would recommend checking the event logs for possible clues as to what may be going wrong.

  • Hi winterwy,

According to your description, the auto logon has been enabled. For the error, you could try the steps below to check.

    1. You could check if IPv6 is enabled. Uncheck ivp6 on your network.
    2. Clear DNS cache by using command “ipconfig /flushdns” and changed alternate DNS IP
    3. If Default profile missing or corrupted getting same error, you could change a new user account to check.
    4. If you use the Wireless, it's almost as if the wireless doen't turn on until after the user logs in. you could reset the router.

Hope it will be helpful to you

  • Hi Carl,

    Thank you for your reply.

We did the below actions, but still cannot auto-logon.

    1. uncheck ivp6

    2. clear dns cache

    3. try several diferent useraccount and none of them working.

    4. we use cable.

Anyway all of username which we tried do not have profiles on the local machine. if we manually logon to the computer and create profile, auto-logon will be working.
