Backup Dynamics CRM SQL Database fails Access Denied RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

i want to backup the sql databases from our dynamics crm environment.

I set up a protection group and all databases successfully backup except one.

It must have something to do with the Full Text Search Catalog (ftcat) attached to that database cause the error is:

Error C:\Programme\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\FTData\MUSTER_MSCRM_2.ftcat_documentindex_0cb8d2893dd040038a4724f5b3d9bc2d\. (ID 2033 Details: A required priviledge is not held by the client (0x80070522))

I checked permissions for system account for that directory and they are set to full access.

  • In many cases, when I see this, this means A/V.

    Did you configure the exclusions?

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff399368.aspx

Second, you should be able to find out in the log files where it goes wrong if it is not hte A/V

    Just my 2 cents,

    Cheers,

    Mike

  • Hey Utto,

I think I saw this issue before, and it had to do with the fact that you are using your OS in german language.  Could you, detach the database, move everything to c:\program files\microsoft... or just another folder c:\data or so and then try again?

This used to be a local bug or so in DPM 2007, don't know if it still exist in DPM 2010

    Just my 2 cents,

    cheers

  • Yes i agree, had seen that bug before. I resolved this with detach and attach the databases to c:\program files in the past. But this one is different, cause no matter if i detach and attach to another directory the ftdata directory for the full text catalog stays at c:\programme.

i don't know how to move that one to c:\program files

  • Hey Utto,

Sorry, my bad, you need to move the full text search files location.  Unfortunately, this is not so easy...

  • After Upgrading to DPM 2010 the error is different now:

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process (0x80070020).

    Any Ideas?
