How to protect other servers with DPM 2010 installed on a domain controller RRS feed

  • Question

  • "For a DPM server that is installed on a domain controller, only protection of data sources local to the DPM server is supported. You cannot install agents on other computers to configure protection."

    What a painfull limitation.

At first sight seems as if there is just a registry key missing, when trying to attach an agent leading to the "Unable to configure security settings...". By the way. I added server to protect in the Distributed COM Users-Group.

    Any trick?

  • You really can't.
I struggled with this feature before it was written on the technet (thanks Microsoft for adding this right after my issue :)). And i tried every possible way to do so.
