2003 domain controller frequently crashing RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi there,

    I've been asked to look at a problem with a win2k3 sp2 domain controller which frequently crashes overnight. This server is also running sql server (bad practise I know) so it causes a real issue when it goes down. Although this is a domain controller all the FSMO roles are held on new Win2008r2 DCs.

    When it crashes it logs hundreds of the below events.

    source = srv

    event id= 2019

    The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the pool was empty.

    Just before this happens it logs a few of these events

    source = kdc

    eventid = 27

    While processing a TGS request for the target server krbtgt/domain.local, the account CPF-CITRIX-WEB$domain.local did not have a suitable key for generating a Kerberos ticket (the missing key has an ID of 8). The requested etypes were 18.  The accounts available etypes were 23  -133  -128  3  1.

    I've googled the error and found the below article, but I'm not sure this is correct as this refers to user accounts and the errors above are all logged against computer accounts.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978055

    Can anyone more knowledgable than I point me in the right direction on this?

    Cheers,

    Al
