DPM Client Backup (Laptop User) on DPM 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I'm testing DPM's client backup feature and have run into a problem. Firstly I changed recovery 12:00 to 13:00 and set it not to allow user to specify folders to be included. The change has not filtered to the client and is still showing the incorrect time and still allows the user to tick/untick folders. Restarted the machine several time still no joy?

Also for the recovery tab I had to start the DPMRA service? Before I restarted the message was ‘No available restore point on this server’. The service was set to manual is this intentional? To recover a document when I ‘right click’ there is no option to restore; I’ve had to copy the file back into the location, is this correct?

Also the test user is part of the local admin group.

    Cheers for any help.

  • With client connected/reachable on DPM server right click refresh this client.
    Still no joy?

DPMRA stops/starts automatically and is intentional.
You have to use the client application (icon on desktop) to recover files from client protection, not "right click - previous version".
The application allows to recovery to original or make a copy.
