WSUS - The Client Web Service is not working. RRS feed

    I know this question has been asked previously, but none of the previous fixes seem to work for my issue.

    Recently our WSUS content folder filled to capacity and corrupted our SUSDB database. After rebuilding our wsus server + new DB, most services appear to be working and synchronization was able to complete successfully and download all updates again. But the following error keeps appearing:

    Event 12022 - The Client Web Service is not working.

    and I'm seeing:

    2017-04-21 05:06:41.828 UTC Error WsusService.20 HmtWebServices.CheckClientWebService Client WebService WebException:System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found.

    Under C:\Program Files\Update Services\LogFiles\SoftwareDistribution.log

    I can navigate to links:

    http://WSUSURL:8530/selfupdate/wuident.cab
    http://WSUSURL:8530//ClientWebService/client.asmx

    On client machines with no issues.

    Also, SSL is not currently being used.

    If anyone could point me in the right direction to fix this issue, that would be appreciated.

    Hi Elana.al,

    1. Please check if re-start IIS manager could help;

    2. If it still not work, please try reinstall the WSUS role again, before re-installation, please ensure the original WSUS site is deleted.
