    Hello,

    i have one user who occasionally gets the imap4 client error message "auth failed" . i switched on logging on the imap4 instance.

    After a restart of the exchange 2010 imap4 service, the user can log in again without entering a new password os something alike.

    the imap4 service error log tells:

    R=""4 NO LOGIN failed."";Msg=UserConnectionLimitReached"

     

    where is that limit configured ? if there are dead persistent connections, could i configure the server to drop any connection after 8h lifetime maybe ?

    Can you run 'Get-ThrottlingPolicy' to see if anything is set for IMAP? Also can you provide the protocol log for IMAP?  Lastly, you could turn up diagnostic logging on IMAP to see if there is anything there as well.
