Bitlocker recovery / keyboard not functioning RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a NUC running WIN 10 Pro and it was working fine until Friday.  I unplugged it to move it to a new room and when I try to turn it on, it asks for my Bitlocker recovery key.

I never activated Bitlocker in the first place, but my I have found my recovery key on my Microsoft account.  The problem is, the keyboard doesn't work...I can't type the recovery key in and I can't press any function keys during boot-up to get to the  BIOS to do anything else that might work.

I've changed keyboards, gone from wireless to plug-in, changed batteries, etc...the keyboards all work fine for other devices, just not for this one while it's locked.

    HELP!

  • Hi,

If you set "fast boot", USB keyboards will not work before booting.

If you did you might have to set a jumper to reset it, because that setting cannot be reset in any other way.

Reset your BIOS either on mainboard or by pressing the "reset CMOS" on the back of your PC. It needed to change the setting of booting in BIOS (Switch off "fast boot" option).

Note: If you using something like "fast boot" you mustn't turn it on. this may lead to the issue described in your post.

In addition, here are some posts with the similar issue with yours, just for your reference, you can try the method mentioned in them:
