After Windows 10 Creators Update, UAG Can't Remote Desktop Connect RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone experienced or found a fix for this?

Can login to UAG, but can't connect to any remote resources from machines that have updated to the Creators Update. Worked with previous versions of Windows 10.

  • We're in the same boat here.  Haven't been able to find a solution yet.  Active X control appear to function, which was the issue we had initially when migrating to Windows 10.

  • You could replace the following files by the corresponding files from c:\windows.old

The SysWOW64 files are sufficient because you usually use the 32 Bit version of Internet Explorer with the UAG portal. If it doesn't work, copy the 64 Bit versions as well.

Note, that the files are protected, so you have to take ownership with takeown or subinacl first and change the ACL.

Additional information: the files are actually hardlinks:

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64>fsutil hardlink list mstsc.exe

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64>fsutil hardlink list mstscax.dll

If you replaced the files and want to revert it, you can issue the following commands after you deleted c:\windows\syswow64\mstsc.exe and c:\windows\syswow64\mstscax.dll

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64>fsutil hardlink create mstsc.exe C:\Windows\WinSxS\wow64_microsoft-windows-t..minalservicesclient_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.15063.0_none_6944d1208e470b61\mstsc.exe

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64>fsutil hardlink create mstscax.dll  C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft-windows-t..s-clientactivexcore_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.15063.0_none_e4e3457246197eaf\mstscax.dll
