Auto-grow Key Points
1.) Auto-grow needs to be enabled for the datasource.
2.) We grow the replica/recovery point volume by 10gigs or by 25% whichever is higher.
3.) To prevent race conditions, we do not grow within 15 minutes of the last growth.http://robertanddpm.blogspot.ru/2010/09/shrink-volumes-auto-grow.html

I am getting this message on DPM 1807 Server Version 5.1.378.0 for one of the PGs without a chance to alter anything. The only option I get is to move the disk storage which I have done to a new disk several TB in size but the PG keeps complaining as before.Sassan Karai

Hi Guys,
I am facing this similar issue. I am testing DPM 2019 backup solution for VMware infra and have successfully tested the deployment using disk bases storage for backup. However, all of sudden I have started facing this issue and have run the consistency check almost 5 times and it has failed each time. My disk pool storage is big enough around 400Gb and data that is getting backed up is hardly 16Gb.
I am not sure what is this auto grow option is and I think in DPM 2019 it is automatically taken care by DPM. Can someone please assist me in understanding this auto grow feature and why does DPM initiate it. Disk based storage use windows volumes and how can DPM increase that space if underlying disk does not have space ?
Can someone please assist to resolve the issue.

What operating system are you running? In my case I made headway after updating the OS to Windows 2019 server.

Hi Sassan,
I am using Windows 2019 and using VMware vmdks as a disk pool for backing of the data. It was working fine till 2 days ago and now suddenly this error has started coming. In test environment, I just have 1 VM backup running. Not sure, how this will behave if I implement this in production and run multiple backups.

Hi,
I am not able to understand that why do I need to increase the replica volume if my volume is already having enough space ?
