Disable POP3 and IMAP4 using any policy

  • Hi Team,

    Can we disable IMAP and POP3 using defaullt mailbox policy, I searched and couldn't find one.

    Any help.

  • Hi Kalyan,

    Yes, there's no policy to disable POP3 and IMAP4 feature for mailbox.
    However, we can use "Set-CASMailbox" to disable those features for mailbox. For example:
    Set-CASMailbox <Mailbox> -POPEnabled $false -IMAPEnabled $false

    Also, if you want to block POP3 and IMAP4 access in your environment, you can disable Microsoft Exchange IMAP4 service and Microsoft Exchange POP3 service on each Exchange server.

    Note: set Startup type from Automatic to Disabled.
