Web Application suddenly crash (Citrix is not Responding, Citrix stoped Working) - Windows Update Dec 2014 RRS feed

  • Question

  • After the distribution of the latest windows update on Dec 2014 we started to face irregular behavior with our Citrix ICA Client V12 which is used to connect to our online applications. The web application suddenly crash and windows provides an error message as below. The event viewer shows the below log.

We suspect that it was duo to Windows update, we have tried this fix (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/3025390) but with no luck.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Hello, we observed a similar behavior yesterday with regards to this patch. Customers started calling us that they couldn't access our Citrix site or they were getting logged off automatically when they clicked on an icon. One difference is that we are using Netscaler in front of the web interface with pre-auth policies to check for antivirus in the client workstation.

This patch is directly affecting the end point analysis engine that runs on the client workstation so we decided to temporarily turn that off while we work with Citrix on reviewing this.

You're replying to yourself? You told us in your first post above that installing KB3025390 did not resolve the problem.

  • I was asking molikop if he has tried this fix. Anyway we have tried to install the fix manually into individual PCs 2 days ago. But could not see that the problem was solved. Today we will push the latest Microsoft updates (which will have this fix) to the affected computers via WSUS server. We will check if there are additional fixes deployed by Microsoft that could solve the problem.

The "threading" in these forums is atrocious. I try to remember to quote the post I'm replying to in hopes of avoiding such confusion.

  • We have tried to also to run (System File Checker) SFC /Scannow to check if there are any issue with the system files as outlined in the event log. But there was no problem returned with the checker.

I have extracted the below Windows Error Reporting WER file when the ICA client crash. Can we analyze the data as we might find the cause,
