  • What is TechNet Guru Competition?

Each month the TechNet Wiki council organizes a contest of the best articles posted that month.
This is your chance to be announced as MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY GURU OF THE MONTH!

One winner in each category will be selected each month for glory and adoration by the MSDN/TechNet Ninjas and community as a whole. Winners will be announced in dedicated blog post that will be published in Microsoft Wiki Ninjas blog, a tweet from the Wiki Ninjas Twitter account, links will be published at Microsoft TNWiki group on Facebook, and other acknowledgement from the community will follow.

Some of our biggest community voices and many MVPs have passed through these halls on their way to fame and fortune.

If you have already made a contribution in the forums or gallery or you published a nice blog, then you can simply convert it into a shared wiki article, reference the original post, and register the article for the TechNet Guru Competition. The articles must be written in September 2017 and must be in English. However, the original blog or forum content can be from before September 2017.

Come and see who is making waves in all your favorite technologies.
    Maybe it will be you!

    Who can join the Competition?

Anyone who has basic knowledge and the desire to share the knowledge is welcome. Articles can appeal to beginners or discusse advanced topics. All you have to do is to add your article to TechNet Wiki from your own specialty category.

    How can you win?

    1. Please copy/Write over your Microsoft technical solutions and revelations to TechNet Wiki.
    2. Add a link to your new article on THIS WIKI COMPETITION PAGE (so we know you've contributed)
    3. (Optional but recommended) Add a link to your article at the TechNet Wiki group on Facebook. The group is very active and people love to help, you can get feedback and even direct improvements in the article before the contest starts.

Do you have any question or want more information?

Feel free to ask any questions below, or Join us at the official Microsoft TechNet Wiki groups on facebook.

  • Is the TechNet Guru Competitions - September 2017 page (or its equivalent each month) the place to go to see what has already been submitted? What if a specific category does not exist in the Categories list? For example the "This Month's Forum Announcements" list includes C# but I don't see C# in the Categories list. That page says "don't add more categories" but I assume that categories like C# already exist but I am confused.

Also, articles are supposed to link to the original article. That is good. I have articles in my website that are also in another website (C# Corner) so should/could I link to both copies?

  • Hi Sam,

Thank you for your question and valuable time.

Is the TechNet Guru Competitions - September 2017 page (or its equivalent each month) the place to go to see what has already been submitted?

Yes, TechNet Wiki council organizes a contest of the best articles posted that month and this is organizes for every month. And the article should be written in same month only. Read More about TechNet Guru Awards.

What if a specific category does not exist in the Categories list?

Currently we have all categories almost all Microsoft technologies in contest and I think you are looking Visual C# category. If yes kindly visit category Visual C#

Feel free to ask any questions below, or Join us at the official Microsoft TechNet Wiki groups on facebook.

I have many articles in my website that I have not yet submitted. I did not write them to be competitive but since there is a contest I might want to check out the competition. That is why I was asking.

I think you are looking Visual C# category.

Thank you. I said C# just as an example. The reason I was confused is because the one list is shorter than the other list. I now see that the reason is because the first list combines many of the categories that are separate in the second list.

Ok, so if you are original author of that articles and if those are related to Microsoft technology then I would suggest please create Wiki article on that topic. And you can add those Wiki articles in monthly competition.

Thank you. I said C# just as an example. The reason I was confused is because the one list is shorter than the other list. I now see that the reason is because the first list combines many of the categories that are separate in the second list.

    Thank you :)

I am not sure what category you mean. Do you mean the Wiki Articles category or some other category? I see many categories with nothing.
