  • Today I ran into this problem that took me all day to solve.. I was able to track it down to one update that came out last night.

    KB3004394

That little bugger shuts down your Windows Defender and it turns out to be very malicious on your system and causes severe performance issues for windows. If its installed, remove it. Go to your Control Panel --> Programs and Features -->  View Installed Updates --> ( The catagory to look under ) Microsoft Windows --> and look for KB3004394. Right click it and choose uninstall. Reboot, problem solved.

  • Hi vijay ,

Have you tried the solution provided by Winword Exonar ? Does it work? Any feedback would be appreciate?

If this is not the cause, then I would suggest you return to a previous point with system restore. or simply uninstall the updates december 10, 2014 , then check if issue persists, we should first find out whether one update included in is the culprit.

    Regards.
