  • Can the MAP tool discover the Licensing model in use for a specific SQL instance?  CPU vs User?

  • As of SQL Server 2005, they stopped putting licensing info into the registry. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlblog/archive/2006/11/10/tracking-license-information-in-sql-2005.aspx

MAP could report on this if the user input the Registry Keys themselves like it shows in the blog post. If you do that, it should show up in the SqlServerDatabaseDetails.xlsx report > DBInstanceSummary tab where there are two columns at the end labeled "License Type" and "Number of Licenses".

    Thanks,
