Project Server 2013 - Project Professional Project Information RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    We are using project server 2013. When the project manager Edit the project using Microsoft Project Professional and click on the Project Information button, Microsoft Project Professional not responding. We have installed the latest update for project server and Project prof but the issue is not resolved. Have anyone faced this issue

  • Does the same happen if you check out the project before you hit the project information dialogue box?

  • While checking out and update the project schedule, Save / Publish no issues. If clicked on the project information button it is not responding.

  • Hello,

    Can you open this project in PWA on a PDP (not the Schedule PDP), click Edit, hit Save then Close to check in. Once all processed via the queue, can you then try the Project Info in Project Professional?

    Is this the same for all users with this project?

  • Hello, in Project Pro, if you click Project Info and leave it, does it ever open? What happens for new blank Projects, does that work OK?

  • Project is in read only mode. Banner in the back shows that the project is not checked out.  Try checking it out first.

  • Hello Paul,

    Even we left it for more than two hours, it was showing not responding.

    Even blank project connected with Project Server, same issue.

    Blank project which is not connected with project server working fine.

    Are your copies of Microsoft Project Professional 2013 updated with the latest patches and cumulative updates?  If not, I would recommend you apply all of the latest updates and determine if this resolves your problem.  Hope this helps.

  • This is very weird and so it makes we think we are not looking in the right place.

    Are you using any macros in project pro client?

    Has the global enterprise been recently update?

    Does it occur on just one desktop or is it happening to all desktops?

    Is this a brand new installation of project server?

    Was a migration involved?

    Was it working and then just stopped?

    Can you provide any other information that you are suspicious of.
