Gadget Notes - Where are they stored? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I developed the habit of saving information references in gadget notes that I kept open so it was quick to add them.  I was able to leave the notes open even when shutting down and restarting the computer and logging back in.  Well at some point they didn't come back up and I'd like the have the information stored in them.  I attempted to locate the storage location but have been unsuccessful.  Can I would much appreciate it if someone tell me where I might find where gadget notes are stored.

You'll find the test in middle of file using notepad.

  • Thanks Carey.  I found the StickyNotes.snt file.  However the file has the various notes encoded so there's no obvious way to recover them by a simple copy/paste operation.  Can you suggest anything? For instance could that file be modified with a binary editor to re-activate selected sticky notes?

  • There are some 3rd party application from where you can get the text directly. Google, and you'll find couple of them.
