Lync 2010 Client RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have issues sequencing the client.

When deployed the virtual client has errors that pop up saying "problems connecting to exchange server" & also intermittently hangs Outlook 2007".

& If outlook is opened first then we have an issue where the ost file is locked & in use by outlook & then will not allow Lync to access it.

I'm not trying anything clever with the sequencing apart from normal start sequencer/install/load app/deploy.

The instant messaging works but appears 'buggy'

Anybody aware of these issues & how to overcome them?

    Many thanks

  • Hello,

What steps from the prescriptive guidance for Office 2010 did you follow?

  • Hi Znack,

None of those in this instance. The Lync client is for deployment onto XP client devices that are using 'Fat' Office 2003 and 'Fat' Outlook 2007.

We have succesfully deployed Office 2010 (virtual) using that guidance but not including the Lync Client.

Do I need any of those steps for Lync 2010???

    Many thanks

  • Hello,

Considering that Lync 2010 is available with Office Professional Plus 2010 I would consider that its part of the Office-suite.

  • Hi Znack,

We have followed that but same problems persist

  • Hello,

What choices from the prescriptive guidance did you make?

Considering the some parts are optional and some are not - it would be interesting to know which choices you made and exactly how you implemented them
