  • Hello,

As known, the sticky notes is a great feature on Windows 7. However, there no menu bar/optioins in it beside the very simple context menu. But, at least, it should provide the method to back up data, for example, when I want to reinstall the system. For this, I luckily google a trick: copy/past the C:\Users\<<user>>\appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes\StickyNotes.snt file.  If this is the by-design for now,  I hope the team add more basical features to Sticky Note in future. It would be perfect if I can customize the data folder.

    Thanks

  • sticky + history/bakup/restore.

With idea in mind that if my computer died & had to be replaced, for cross platform Mac/PC, and OS migrations, have always kept all things I do not want to lose in Folder MySaves including Music, Movies, Pics, Contacts, Faves, Toolbars, User manuals, Software downloads you name it. Oh and this 120KB Notez.txt file that follows me from Windows 98: phone #s, addresses, stuff I need, and also use (like sticky) copy-pasting and erasing. Have shortcut to Notez.txt in MyToolbar which is also in MySaves.

Have to replace older version on External drive every couple of months. Other ways to do it (Time Machine in Leopard etc.) but this works for me.

I always thought sticky notes were more or less short term reminders and temporary notes and that programs like Office would be more likely to have the functions and data saving capabilities that you were looking for.

  • I have made a free software utility that saves the Sticky Notes to a browsable list. I'm not sure if it can be submitted to the gallery and under what section. The details are at:
