  • Hi,

Wired AutoConfig (dot3svc) is a service that configures the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.1X port-based security settings on IEEE 802.3 Ethernet adapters. Wired AutoConfig operates in conjunction with IEEE 802.1X authenticating switches and Remote Authentication Dial-in User Service (RADIUS) servers to perform 802.1X client authentication for access to IEEE 802.3 Ethernet networks. When enabled, Wired AutoConfig settings apply to all IEEE 802.3 Ethernet network adapters on the computer.

Here is a blog which you can refer to know more about this service:

  • Thanks for the information.  It is very helpful.  What I want to find out is somehow this service was set to manual from automatic.  I would like to know who and when it set to manual.  Could there be some Windows patch update reset it back to manual or something else.
