Outlook 2013 - IMAP RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am facing huge Problems with Outlook 2013 and I am about to step back to 20120.

    - IMAP Sync blocks the pc for hours: in the statusline ist is synchronizing all the time, during that time all synchronizing of all other mailboxes is blocked

    - Writing an E-Mail and adding E-Mail adress in 60% of cases stops Outlook (No respond) and you have to Close it and restart.

    2 Questions:

    - Will there be an update soon which solves these problems

    - Where could I get Outlook 2010 code for installing the last Version and I am allowed to do so (License rights)

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

->IMAP Sync blocks the pc for hours: in the statusline ist is synchronizing all the time, during that time all synchronizing of all other mailboxes is blocked

    1. Try to start Outlook in safe mode (click run and type “outlook.exe /safe” ) to see if it works fine. If it is normal in this situation, disable add-ins and macros.

    2. Try the following steps to check the result:

    • Logon your email account through Web-based Access.
    • Create a new subfolder under inbox and move all of messages in inbox to the new one.

(Perform the same steps if you have other folder)

    • Move the messages back to the original Inbox folder.
    • On the client site, please create a new Outlook profile and resetup your mail account:

                    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918

    • Sync your account again to check if it works fine.

->Writing an E-Mail and adding E-Mail adress in 60% of cases stops Outlook (No respond) and you have to Close it and restart.

Does this behavior occur frequently? Or just few times?

Try the following methods provided in this KB:

To get the Office 2010 license, it depends on how you get the license before:

From the product CD or DVD: The product key is typically located on an orange or yellow sticker on the back of the CD case or the DVD case. See:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811224/en-us

From Microsoft online store: Just check if there are any messages containing the license information when you got the license before. Or you could contact the custom service to get the license.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards
