Refreshing Device List

Question
-
Hi All,
Subsequent to AD discovery with CM I have cleaned up the AD, removing some computers that are no longer used.
To-date CM is still showing them in the device listing.
I think there is a timeout that can be set so CM will remove machines that are no longer listed, but I cannot remember where to find it. Googling hasn't turned up anything.
Can anyone remind me please.
TIA

Use the "Delete Inactive Client Discovery Data" maintenance task.
It's explained nicely in this post

Thanks. It didn't seem to mention exactly where this setting is, but this person also had the same problem and gave some more detail http://www.david-obrien.net/2014/04/12/configure-client-activity-settings-configmgr/Thursday, August 14, 2014 1:32 PM

Just to double check, is this definitely the right task to get updated data from the AD?
Technically it's the AD that has been updated, with old machines being deleted.

This won't happen overnight. It will take days depending on your configuration.

Yes, this particular delete task default is set to 90 days.
Just double checking if this is the right task?
It's not so much that I want to delete inactive machines, as ensure that the devices list in CM matches AD i.e. if machines are deleted off AD they are then deleted from the devices list in CM.

That's the right task. Bear in mind you will not achieve real-time here (if that's what you're after).

That's fine. I can set it in a daily basis I guess for relatively quick tidy-ups.
My worry was it would look for machines that hadn't been turned on (I work in a school, so over the holidays machines aren't turned on for several weeks) and then delete them from CM.
