Updates after install and reboot showing 'Pending Restart'

Question
-
I have a few Server 2012 R2 servers that show in the GUI of Windows update as 'Pending Restart' after I have rebooted the server several times. I was wondering if this is a GUI bug or is there some update that was maybe called back or known to cause this? During the reboot process after the first time installing the updates, I did notice it failed on one update and rolled back, rebooted and came up fine.
Has anyone seen this or know a fix for this?

Hello,
I found someone resolved the problem by uninstall the issued updates, and reinstall it.
I think it worth a try.

you're using local WU, WSUS or SCCM for patching?
haven't seen this before, when you go to shutdown, do you see the option to 'update and restart' or 'update and shutdown'?
check the WU log: %windir%\windowsupdate.log

using SCCM to patch. There is no 'update and restart or shutdown option'. It's like windows thinks they are all installed. I will dig in the logs a bit.
Thanks
