how do I restore deleted objects by mistake without Administrative Restore? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Items that you delete from the database can be restored. On the Quick Launch, click Server Settings, and then click Administrative Restore. This feature isn't available in PWA. How can objects be restord if objects are deleted by misatakes? For example Timesheet Actuals data deleted with too large a range?

  • Hello,

If you are using Project Server on-premises then you can restore entities (Projects, Resource, Fields etc.) providing you are backing these update via the admin backup feature. Timesheets are not included, you would need to go to the Database backup etc.

If you are using Project Online, the Admin backup and restore feature is not availble. I think if you were to delete an entity by mistake in Project Online, open a support ticket with Microsoft ASAP to see if they can help restore.

  • It sounds like you are using project server 2013 premise.  The restore is found in the SharePoint Admin.  I cant recall the quick launch name, but it is located near the bottom of quick launch options.
