FIM Evaluation to Full version RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have deployed FIM 2010 eval version and now its expired and sync service has stopped.

We are only using Sync service and as per below aticle there is no license required for the same.

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/33272.fim2010-mim2016-licensing-clarification-on-the-requirement-to-use-cals.aspx

My questions is, how to get the licenses media, we can then install the the licenses version and restore the database from eval version?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hello MiVineet,

Yes, you can just reinstall FIMSync using licensed version (not Eval one) and re-use existing one during installation. It will work.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for the response.

I am fine with above, however the question is:

How to get the licensed version, as per below article FIM sync service is free with a Windows Server license?

  • Hello MiVineet,

I assume that you have Volume License - if so, you'd find Microsoft Identity Manager 2016 on

Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) :
