    Question

  • Hey,

We have groups here, and as well as their own mailbox people in the group have a group email address added into Outlook as an additional email account properly, not an additional mailbox.

When somebody tries to resend a message that exists in the group mailbox, they get a warning that they were not the original sender and click Yes to carry on.  The From box defaults to the original sender so they change it to themselves, but they still get an error about not having the ability to send as the original sender.

What's going on?  Is that a bug?  Changing the From box to themselves should surely send AS themselves.  We're using Windows 7 Pro x64 with Office 2010 SP2 x86.  AD Domain and On-Premise Exchange 2010 SP3.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

When I was testing, the email went through successfully when resending. Incase I've missed something, I'd like to clarify the following questions:

By "the group mailbox", do you mean a shared mailbox on which a group of users have full access permissions?

    >> people in the group have a group email address added into Outlook as an additional email account properly

How did the group members add the group mailbox as an additional email account? Did they do it via File > Add Account in Outlook?

    >>When somebody tries to resend a message that exists in the group mailbox

What message did the user try to resend? Is it a received email in the Inbox or subfolder or is it a sent mail in the Sent Items folder?

    >>but they still get an error about not having the ability to send as the original sender.

Could you provide a screenshot of the error message? Is it a pop-up error message or a NDR notification?

    Regards,

    Steve Fan

    Sent Email

It's a popup message - about not having send permissions even though they change the 'From' field to their own account
