How to Sort a Customer List RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Sharepoint team

Bear with me, as i only just starting to gain some experience in sharepoint. Work needs someone to set up some sites and i have kind of been made the go to guy even though i have no previous experience with sharepoint.

Anyway, I have created this customer list. It has about 10 columns. I want it to be so that the list is Sorted by Date First (column name s Date), then by Name Alphabetical (Column name is Name), Then By Status (which is one of three option available from a drop down list).

Can this be done i sharepoint? Perhaps through the calculated columns field which i have used for colour coding?

Work will love me, if i can figure this out....So would really appreciate your help

  • Each View has first a list of the columns to be displayed and then a couple of places where you can say which two fields (first one then the other) you want to sort on (and whether Ascending or Descending).

So you can sort by Date First and then by Name.

You can't also (then) sort by Status in addition to the above as if I remember correctly there are only two Sort fields possible.
