Unable to Produce Cartesian Product using Power Query Merge Tool RRS feed

  • Power Query Merge tool should support the creation of a Cartesian Product so that a layman can produce such a result without resorting to Power Query Language.

  • It's quite easy to do a cartesian product in Power Query without needing to write any code: you just add a custom column to each column containing the value 1, then join the tables together on those columns (see http://cwebbbi.wordpress.com/2014/06/04/join-conditions-in-power-query-part-2-events-in-progress-performance-and-query-folding/ for example). Not ideal, I agree, and it would be good to have this as a join type, but not too difficult to do either.
