DMZ / Workgroup client not registering in SCCM console RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to setup SCCM on a workgroup client in the DMZ and the machine is not registering in the SCCM console.

The General tab of the SCCM client shows:
    Client Certificate = None
    Connection Type = Currently Internet

    In the location services log I see : [CCMHTTP] ERROR: URL=http://<Servername>, Port=80, Options=224, Code=0, Text=CCM_E_BAD_HTTP_STATUS_CODE
Error sending HEAD request. HTTP code 401, status 'Unauthorized'

In the certificatemaintenance.log I see : MP <servername> does not allow client connections matching the client connection type

In the StatusAgent log I see: HandleFSPCcmHttpStatus - Failed to retrieve assigned MP. Assuming '<Servername>' is not a relevant MP.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • I contacted PSS support and it turns out that I only have to enable anonymous authentication on my management point.  After that the client registered successfully.
