  • Is the SQL Server agent set to start manually or automatically? Or is it disabled?

    Cheers

  • Also make sure you are running the latest and greatest SQL 2005/2008 MP, which is currently ver 6.0.6569.0 is located here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=8C0F970E-C653-4C15-9E51-6A6CADFCA363&displaylang=en&displaylang=en

    also note:
This MP is designed to monitor the SQL Server 2000, 2005, and 2008 in the following configuration:
    • 32-bit SQL Server on 32-bit operating system,
    • 64-bit SQL Server on 64-bit operating system. For SQL Server 2005, only SP2 or later is supported
    • 32-bit SQL Server on 64-bit operating system. SQL Server 2000 is NOT supported

    hope this helps!

    Thanks,
