Scope Hostname Rule item count doesn't match crawl log host name search item count RRS feed

    I've done a full crawl of my Publishing Site with Workflow based site (e.g. URL https://mysite.com), and it's found around 95,000 searchable items (according to the Search Administration > System Status information. When I view the crawl log and click the link for the 95,000 'successes', I can do a search for "URL or Host name", entering a site within my collection, e.g. https://mysite.com/uk. The search then returns 386 results, which is about right.

    However, when create a new search scope, which has a single rule defined as "Hostname = https://mysite.com/uk" and "Behavior = include", the item count only shows 65 items, not the 386 I would expect.

    Any idea why this might happen?

    Have you got 386 after creating a new search scope, which has a single rule defined as "Hostname = https://mysite.com/uk" and "Behavior = include" And Full Crawl?

    Sorry, didn't see the reply come in.

    We ended up engaging with a consultant to total re-do our search setup, and I'm not 100% sure what he did, but it works now. Sorry I can't answer your question in that context.
