Exchange Online Attributes

    Question

  • We have an ActiveDirectory as user database that is synced to the Office365 Exchange.

I am trying to update an Alias for a User but I cannot find the attribute MailNickName in my OnPremise AD to update the Alias in Exchange Online.

    Any ideas?

  • Did you and/or do you have Exchange installed on premises?

  • No, This AD environment never had an exchange server.

  • That's why that attribute isn't present.  It's added by updating the schema for Exchange Server.
