Way to return to a specific column field when switching from view to view RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

We use MS Project 2013 in Windows 7.

When we switch from view to view, Project always task u back to the left most side of the view column.

Is there a way that when we switch from the Gantt view to the CSC Task usage view and then back to the Gantt view that it keeps us on the 8th column field when we come back? It always brings us back to the 1st column field and we have to scroll over to where we want to start when we come back into the Gantt view.

We didn't want to have to create more views just for this purpose.

Also, is there  way that when we are in the CSC Task Usage view that the timephased view can be set at a certain week date when we come back and forth into that view?  ..... and be able to set it on something else later?  Rather than it reverting to whatever week column field in that timephased view?

    Thanks

  • Hotmail1,

Unfortunately the answer to both or your questions is "no". For either case however, I suggest you try a split screen. For example, have the Gantt Chart view in the top pane and the Task Usage view in the lower pane. If you were on the 8th column in the Task Usage view and then switch to the Gantt Chart view, when you come back to the Task Usage view, click in a blank area and you will be back at the 8th column.

I know it's not quite what you want but unless someone else jumps in with another approach, it may be the best you can do.
