Moving SharePoint MOSS 2007 to a new active directory domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a situation where I have to move SharePoint 2007 farm (all the server) that are running on Windows 2003 platform to a new AD domain . We plan to keep the same machines, the same names for the machines, the same URLs, everything.  The only thing that will change is that the machines will now reside in DOMAINB instead of DOMAINA. What would be changes on farm like users, user groups and service accoounts. Any information related to this scenario with detailed stepes would be appreciated.

  • I'm not sure if a detailed step by step exists bu there are some previous theads on this, including

Some of the most important aspects are: -

    1. Changing the Application Pool Accouns so that they can talk to SQL
    2. User SID History: You will either have to migrate all of these users to the new domain and bring SID history or completely remove and re-add all users from new domain to give access to your SharePoint sites.

  • Thanks for your help. The Help Url are not providing any information. For Wss and MOSS 2007 We are unable to segregate the process. If some one can provide sharepoint farm in place changes of steps or check list  for  active directory domain moved from one domain to other domain .
