Exchange migration from 2010 to 2016 mail stuck in hub version 15 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a client with one exchange server running on SBS 2011.  We have installed a new exchange server running 2016 standard.  Per the migration documentation we updated the connectors and migrated a test account to exchange.

From the test account we can send mail to internal users and out to external users.  the issue is we can not send email from internal users that are still on the 2010 system to the test account on the exchange 2016 server.

We have a added the exchange server connector per http://techgenix.com/migrating-small-organization-exchange-2010-exchange-2016-part4/

But mail to the test user ends up in the hub version 15 mail Queues....

    TIA,

    Josh

  • Thank you for the information.  This is a strange one for sure. The DNS works as I was able to telnet and connect by host names no matter what server I was on.

After enabling the log files I saw that the message was "451 4.7.0 Temporary server error. Please try again later. PRX2".  This lead me to an post that said to change the new default connector setting under network adapter bindings.  Once I changed this from (all available ip4) to the servers ip4 address mail started being received from exchange 2010 to 2016.

  • Hi JnJExchange77,

Those two servers in a same forest/domain or in different domain?

If those servers in a same domain, we don't create a send connector for those servers.
If those servers in different domain, we should create a cross forest send connector to route mail from one server to another server, we also should add a trust relation between them.
