What's Up with BingSvc.exe? RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I looked at my Task Manager's Processes tab, I saw BingSvc.exe running.  I ended it since, I never (yes, never) use Bing at all.  Then I read up on it a bit on the Web.  Then I searched my entire hard drive and found NO executable that even had "bing" in its name anywhere!  So, why and, more importantly, NOW is this Process running when there's no executable anywhere on the hard drive with that name?

    Thank you for your help.

  • It's supposed to be located in the local appdata folder, which is hidden. Searches won't find files in hidden folders. Have you manually browsed to your local appdata folder?

This should be the location: c:\users\%USERNAME%\appdata\local\microsoft\bingsvc\
